The study on the yield of 4 lines of glutinous RD 6 (photoperiod sensitive tall (Hd1Hd1Sd1Sd1); photoperiod sensitive semi-dwarf (Hd1Hd1sd1sd1),non-photoperiod sensitive tall (hd1hd1Sd1Sd1) and non-photoperiod sensitive semi-dwarf (hd1hd1sd1sd1), was conducted during the rice paddy season of 2008 in Maejo University (Chiang Mai province) using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 3 replications. The 4 lines consisted of F3 generation resulting from a cross between BC4F1-51-501-6211-2255 which contained the genotype Hd1hd1Sd1Sd1 that resulted from the “Project on Glutinous Rice Improvement of RD6 for Non-Photoperiod Sensitivity by Molecular Marker-Assisted Backcrossing for Off-Season Planting”, and BC3F1-127-412-2630 with genotype Hd1Hd1Sd1sd1...

ศึกษาการเกิดข้าวเจ้าปนในข้าวเหนียวพันธุ์ กข6 Thai Agricultural

Contamination of non-glutinous rice in glutinous rice crop leads to undesirable cooking quality. An experiment was conducted to determine causes of non- glutinous seeds occurrence in panicles of a glutinous variety; RD6. This study was carried out by planting a single seedling in a pot. Three treatments were applied to the plants at flowering stage; i.e. 1) cover the panicles with glassine bags, 2) emasculation without glassin bag covering and 3) no emasculation and without glassin bag covering. Ten pots were placed within the Khao Dawk Mali 105 production field. Seed set percentage and starch type identification were analyzed. The results showed that there was no occurrence of non-glutinous seeds in treatments 1 and 3. Seed set was found in 5 panicles...
